In 1902 photographer Ben Winans purchased a state-of-the-art camera and began documenting life in tiny Brookville, Indiana. For twenty-four years he photographed the people, places, and events that breathed life into this southeastern Indiana town. The 172-page book, written by Don Dunaway, features more than one hundred of Winans's black-and-white photographs of townsfolk at work and play, surrounding scenery, and architecture of the small river town.

About the author

Donald L. Dunaway, a native of Franklin County, Indiana, received a bachelor of science degree and a master's degree in business administration from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He retired after forty years at the U.S. Department of Engergy's Feed Material Production Center near Cincinnati, Ohio
