Details: | CURRENTLY OUT-0F-PRINT AND NOT AVAILABLE - DO NOT 0RDER The Genealogist’s Google Toolbox, by Lisa Louise Cooke; 2011, Soft Cover; 209 pp; 8.5x11; ISBN: 978-1-4583-0155-0; Item #Lu01 This book on using Google for genealogy is an excellent volume. Lisa is known for her Genealogy Gems podcast website, and had become a popular speaker on the lecture circuit during the last couple of years. She lectured on using Google Earth at RootsTech, which was very well received. This is a great guidebook, in that it’s heavily illustrated and geared toward showing the genealogist how to use many of the free online “tools” that Google has made available to us. The use of the “tools” is laid out in a step-by-step manner that anyone can follow. The first 5 chapters all deal with Google’s Search abilities, followed by chapters on Google Alerts, Gmail, iGoogle, Books, News Timeline, Translation, YouTube & Video, Google Earth (in all its glory!), Family History Tour Maps, and an amazing “How to” index at the back. Following is a list of the chapters found in the volume:
I like the guidebook, and recommend it to anyone who wants to get more use of the online “tools” available to them. To See Book Review Click Below "The Genealogist’s Google Toolbox" Book ReviewHere are some more of Lisa Louise Cooke's Items that we Sell: |
